Okay, wow! There seems to be a good amount of interest in a 2009 run of the Percy Ficathon. I've figured out a schedule which I hope will work for everyone--it's slightly more compact than last year's, but still feasible, I think.

Sign ups: Sunday-Saturday, March 22-28
Assignments sent: Sunday, March 29
Assignments due: Sunday, May 31
Fics posted: beginning Monday, June 8

If you haven't already, please friend the comm on LJ and/or IJ.

alisanne expressed interest in there being another percy_ficathon this year. Is anyone else interested, as either a writer, artist, or reader? Please leave a comment so I can gauge interest. I expect it would be a fairly small fest, as it has been in years past, if I do decide to run it again.

If any of you aren't watching the Percy Ficathon (of course I cannot imagine why you wouldn't be!), I've just posted the reveals list and you should all hop on over there and check it out. There were some absolutely amazing pieces produced this year, and I'm so pleased with how everything turned out!

Oh, for godsakes. I am made of fail today. I only JUST NOW realized that I didn't post today's Percy Ficathon piece.

I think I'm now officially the worst mod ever.

Signups are still open for the Percy Ficathon, and will remain so until I wake up tomorrow and sit down with a cup of tea to do assignments. I'm stretching the signup deadline a bit--Percy certainly would not approve.

The fest will be hosted on Insanejournal, but links will be provided from Livejournal (and comments will also be enabled at both places)so that everyone has a chance to look at and comment on the submissions.

The wonderful swtalmnd has kindly offered to do graphics--banners and icons and whatnot--for my percy_ficathon. All I need is art!

So if any of you have the time and the inclination, I would appreciate a gift of Percy art more than you could possibly know. I unfortunately can't pay you, as I'm terribly poor right now, but I will give you lots of public love and smooches and credit, and I will also write a fic for you to your specs.

Also, if anyone knows how to create layouts--one that would work both on IJ and LJ--the same offer stands!

Oh, and one more thing--yes, this fest will happen again next year!

I rec really erratically, but there have been two fics I've read in the past couple of days that have really stuck with me, and I have a pressing need to rec them both.

The first is Poland by celandineb, History Boys fandom, Irwin genfic with hints at slash. It's a tiny snippet of a ficlet and so gorgeous and precise, every word fitting in like jigsaw pieces. Cel is so good at this sort of impossible preciseness, and I'm always awed by how she can say so much in so few words. (Also, tiny fandoms need love, too!)

The second is Hero Worship by maple_mahogany, Harry/Ron, quite porny. I opened this up this afternoon, intending to put it in my "to be read" folder, but I read the first paragraph or two and then I just couldn't stop and read to the end, holding my breath at several points. I don't really read Harry/Ron at all anymore, and I don't know what compelled me to open this fic, but I'm certainly glad I did. Ron is what makes this story--the scene where he confronts Teddy is not to be missed.

Go give love to these wonderful writers!

There are only two more days of awesome Percy-centric fic and art, so take a peek over at the comm--there's something there for everyone! There's everything from G-rated genfic to the porniest of 'cesty chanslash, and everything in between. I'll be posting the masterlist on Monday, so you have the whole weekend to catch up on the excellent work that has been posted over there. Our authors and artists (and our wonderful pinch-hitters!) have really made this fest something worthwhile.
