Hee!

I appear to have signed up for [info]hpvalensmut. It'll be the first fest in ages where I've been more than just a pinch-hitter. I'm so excited! I'm glad I took this break from fests, as now it no longer feels like drudgery.

[words stolen from [info]celandineb because she always has good words.]

So, you've seen the end in sight for the exchanges you've already signed up for. Or maybe you didn't sign up for any yet this year, but are thinking maybe it might not be such a dreadful idea. Or perhaps you feel there can never be too many exchanges. Or possibly you think that it would be fun to have a chance at writing a fandom that maybe you haven't written, but isn't quite as obscure or unpredictable as Yuletide.

Here's your chance! This exchange is for anyone who is interested in at least one of these three fandoms -- Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean -- and is willing to write a drabble or ficlet (in other words, between 100-2000 words) in one or more of the fandoms before December 15.

The signup form is here and the comm is [info]3fan_holidays. The awesome [info]celandineb is running this low-stress exchange, so if you can write in any of these three fandoms, do pop on over and sign up!

I know perfectly well I am going to sign up for Valensmut, so I'm not even going to wibble about it.

I'm just not signing up yet.

Dear Yuletide Author...

Thank you for writing for me!

First of all: You are under no obligation to include every character I requested in whichever fandom you choose! I was informed of that rule after the second time I'd put my request through, so I just figured I'd say it here, instead.

I'd love some good slash or gen fic in any of the three fandoms I requested (make that slash, gen, or het in the Eight Cousins fandom). Here are a few more details to get you started.

Eight Cousins Mac is hands-down, absolutely my favorite character in the series, so if you can include him in a major role and/or write from his POV, I'd love that. All of the characters I requested are inherently flawed in their own ways, no matter how they may struggle, so feel free to include plenty of moral wibbling/skewed thinking/poor decisions/regrets. But they're all good people at heart, too--yes, even Charlie. An explicit rating would be fabulous in this fandom.

History Boys In this fandom, it's all about Irwin for me--there's just so much going on with him, so much that is repressed and never quite acknowledged out loud. I'm intrigued with Dakin and Posner as well, if you can make them well-rounded. Any rating is great, from the most g-rated of genfic to the most explicit slash.

Wonder Boys Exactly what I wrote in my request is exactly what I'd like to see here! Awkwardness is gold.

Here is a little more information about my fic preferences, and though it's HP-centric, as that is my main fandom, it might give you a few more ideas.

YULETIDE. ASSIGNMENT.

WHY DID I OFFER THIS FANDOM. WHAT MADE ME THINK I WAS CLEVER. NGH.

(Okay, okay, I admit to a small amount of squee...)

SqueePanic on hold until further notice...

I'm writing more of my Neville/James series. I've really missed writing them! It's been over two weeks since the last installment, and I'm definitely not the world's fastest writer, so it makes me happy that people haven't completely lost interest in this series. There's so much delicious angst to come--at the moment James is being stubborn and (he thinks) seductive, and Neville's heart is being torn into pieces and his moral compass is going haywire. It's so satisfying, writing this series. I'll probably post this installment tomorrow or Tuesday.

I've also begun writing what promises to be a Quite Pervy little Remus/Percy fic for the [info]pervy_werewolf Howl-O-Ween challenge, and after that I'll work on my [info]santas_lap piece which, funnily enough, also involves Remus and Percy. I've just got to focus on not making them repeats of each other.

I also cannot wait for Yuletide assignments--I've gone full-circle from thinking I was a right idiot for signing up to being bouncy and excited. Hooray!

I finally finished my bias-draped Gryffindor scarf this morning and have blocked it out, and it's currently drying on my office floor. I am beyond excited to wear it to work tomorrow.

Uh.

I appear to have signed up for Yuletide.

These are the things I do when I am awake at three a.m. Apparently.

Yuletide treasure...

As I said earlier, I've been contemplating Yuletide tonight. And, inspired by [info]celandineb, I bring you the Official List of Yuletide Fandoms In Which I Could Possibly Write:
Twenty-five fandoms is a hellvuvalot for a so-called monofandom girl! )

This list does not include fandoms wherein I am familiar with the source material, but am not clever enough to write, i.e. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, or Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. *brain asplode*

It also does not include Dinosaur Comics. *gigglesnort*
