clever_claws fest assignment after letting the final product stew for a few days. I think I'm happy with it, though it's pretty far from my usual sort of thing. It's not the best thing I've ever written, honestly, but it was a tough assignment and I think I did all right.

hp_summersmut and then get to work on a pinch hit for another fest. The muse has been less recalcitrant lately since I've been feeding her a steady diet of good fiction. I've been reading a lot lately, and didn't do as much of it in the past year as I normally do, and I think I've been missing that, though I didn't realize it. I've nearly finished Middlesex and haven't dared go near it since yesterday morning because I dread losing that world.
